Long rumored to be gay, the actor, most famous for his roles on "Heroes" and in the recent "Star Trek" film, came out in a October 2011 New York magazine profile, saying:

"In light of Jamey's [Rodemeyer] death -- it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it -- is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. Our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality for every gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered citizen of this country."

Zachary Quinto : fully human

Now I love Zachary Quinto even MORE !   TGTBT

Actor Zachary Quinto, known for portraying Spock in the 2009 blockbuster film “Star Trek,” has publicly come out as a gay man.



In an interview with New York Magazine published on Sunday, Quinto recalled a stage play he performed in last year, “Angels in America,” which was set against the backdrop of the AIDS epidemic and the toll it took on him personally.

Quinto, who rose to fame playing the evil killer Sylar on the television series “Heroes,” also mused to the magazine about gay marriage and young gay teens who have committed suicide after being bullied.

He has a recurring character on the FX series “American Horror Story,” in which he plays a gay ghost.

Quinto, 34, is promoting the upcoming film “Margin Call,” which he produced and stars in as well. He will reprise the role of Spock in the another installment of the “Star Trek“ franchise, which goes into production in January.

Dear Mr. Colbert,

I have watched your show since its inception (ie. idea was planted in the sleeping American Public's mind) for no other reason than to get mad at you for the heterosexist War you continue to wage against the LGBT/Gay community.

You have pissed me off in the past with your turgid tirades against gay rights and the losing battle (Ha Ha!) against gay marriage, but THIS TAKES THE (beautifully decorated) CAKE!

HOW DARE YOU display the LGBT flag upside-down in your recent piece about/against teaching gay history in schools?!? (See the episo)

I cannot believe that this was merely an oversight on the part of your Graphics team. No, rather, I am now convinced that such deep-seated disdain for the LGBT Community are really just pathetic attempts to obfuscate your own same-sex attractions.
Come out of the closet Stephen and stop looking at the Gay Pride Flag as if you were hanging upside-down in a kinky restraint device in your basement!

A musical starring Scottish sitcom actress Elaine C. Smith will premiere at Newcastle's Theatre Royal in March 2012.

Subsequently, it will tour for at least six months, with dates already scheduled in the U.K., Australia and the U.S.

Fittingly, the production is titled I Dreamed a Dream — the tune from the musical Les Misérables that shot Boyle to fame after her performance of it on TV reality contest Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

John Amaechi awarded O.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth

Former NBA player John Amaechi was awarded the Order of the British Empire by the Queen in her Birthday Honours List. It’s a big deal in Britain, handed out to a select few individuals for their chivalry. Amaechi was given the honor for his work with kids. 


In February 2007, Amaechi released a book, Man in the Middle, published by ESPN Books (ISBN 1933060190), which discusses his career and life as a closeted professional athlete. Amaechi is the firstNBA player to speak publicly about being gay.

Maria Aragon, 10, of Winnipeg is getting a lot of attention on YouTube thanks to an endorsement by pop superstar Lady Gaga.

Maria posted a YouTube video of herself playing keyboard and singing a cover of Lady Gaga's latest song, Born This Way. It was posted on Feb. 16 but was pushed into the spotlight on Thursday when Gaga herself mentioned it on her Twitter page.

"Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future," Gaga's posting stated.

Give Adam Levine a hand

In a case of life imitating art, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has brought the name of the band's recent album, "Hands All Over," to life in a stunning nude pictorial – all for a good cause.

Levine, 31, appears stripped down in the February issue of British Cosmopolitan with the hands of his girlfriend, Victoria's Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, covering his privates.

The shoot was done on behalf of Everyman, which is "the UK's leading prostate and testicular cancer campaign," according to its website.

Popping a Pink Cherry

Comments made by sports celebrity Don Cherry against "pinkos" during the swearing-in of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford have caused a stir.

Cherry, invited by Ford to the ceremony, said he specifically chose to wear a flamboyant pink jacket.

Brendan Burke [ wikipedia ] was a remarkable young man. Growing up in a hockey family, with a sports icon as a father [ Brian Burke - Pres./Gen.Mgr. of The Toronto Maple Leafs ], he was probably destined to make his mark in hockey.

And he did, but in a way few could have predicted. He decided to tell the world he was gay — a courageous move in a sport where no player, current or former, has ever come out.
Brendan Burke's life was tragically cut short, but his legacy lives on.
